WOW....what a visual

After making the decision to quit drinking diet coke and all other sodas, I have become more aware of articles talking about the negative effects of drinking soda, many of which I hope to to share with you.  I believe God is just reassuring me that even though this has been hard, I am making the right choice.

The following was in my in-box today:

After reading Leanne's posting on Liquid Clutter, I am prompted to share something I learned recently. I had pre-op testing last month. While speaking with a nursing assistant, I was almost entranced listening to the man. He was so very passionate about nutrition! He asked if I drank "pop" and I said I did--both regular and diet depending on my taste on any given day.

No sooner was that statement out of my mouth when he whipped a teaspoon out of his lab coat pocket, slapped it down in front of me, and said, "Would you ever put NINE of these, filled with sugar, in your mouth in one sitting?"

"Of course not," I replied.

I gave up daily soda drinking long ago, but will have one can of straight up Coca Cola once in a while. Things DO go better with Coke.

Was also catching up on your last few posts, although I do read your Tweets regularly. There is nothing like a blog post though, when you have more than 140 characters!

Lots going on Sheryl, all of it so exciting! I am on board for all the fun! Glad your new job is going well. xoxo

PS My son sold his fishing boat and business so now I have some "spare" time (not really) this summer. I must say I enjoyed booking fishing charters but was "married" to the phone.. don't miss it... also don't need to worry about that pesky Quickbooks anymore!!!

I'm not much of a soda drinker but every now and then, I love my Coke Zero. I discovered the small cans and that seems to be the right amount at one time for me.

I know soda is loaded with sugar. Good for you for quitting. I don't think I'm ready to give up my 1 or 2 sodas a week.
