"Not Me!" Mondays

Welcome back to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

God does have a since of humor :-)

I DID NOT get up at 3:40 a.m. to try and figure out which smoke/carbon monoxide detector was running low on battery. It DID NOT take me 45 minutes to figure it out only to find out that once the battery is removed the things continues to beep. Why is it those things wait until the wee hours of the morning to run low????? (This whole time, my dog was under the covers with my husband shaking like a tree in a tornado.)

I DID NOT leave said detectors on the counter with out batteries deciding to wait until the weekend to deal with them. After all that would be very irresponsible. Ok, I did leave the carbon monoxide detector running by the girls bedrooms. I guess I'm not totally irresponsible.

I DID NOT proceed to over sleep and then take my make up with me to finish getting ready at work.

I DID NOT use this situation to write a devotion, see Sundays blog.

I DID NOT have three high school swim meets to attend this week and a husband out of town along with something else scheduled for the other days/nights. I DID NOT neglect my blog for this reason. After all, all I was doing from 11:00 pm - 6:00 am was chasing beeps or sleeping.

I DID NOT drop my camera at the 3rd swim meet and watch it bounce twice on the concrete stands. My camera IS (NOT) working great and DOES NOT have to be taken to the camera shop to be repaired. I DID NOT screw up my camera right before conference/state competition.

  30. They ALWAYS run low at night. It's like some kind of (not) funny joke that the manufacturer came up with.

    Happy SITS day!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have definitely had days like that one! I like to lay down that night and go "this day DID NOT just happen, I will soon wake up to my real day, this was all a long dream" and then wake up the next morning to give the universe "ooone more chance" (=

    ReplyDelete
  32. ACK about the camera! I'm so sorry!

As for swim meets in general ... I was NOT the swim mom who sat there for eight hour stretches and sweated ten buckets and briefly considered strangling the official when her daughter was ultimately dq'd in the finals.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow sounds like a rough night and day!! I feel for you!! Really stinks about your camera!!! Hi from SITS!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  54. I can totally relate to a lot of those things! Our camera recently took a dive in the kiddy pool ... luckily after a few days of drying it was ok. Enjoy your day in the SITS spotlight!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I have always loved these Not Me posts. How awful about your camera. Mine bounces really well but only on asphalt not on cement!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I am so glad that NONE of that stuff happened to you. I did have to laugh over the way you wrote it, and wish you the best of luck in recovering from your long sleepless night/weekend. Happy SITS day!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Oh no! I hope you were able to get the camera fixed. I have a fear of dropping my camera or my phone - not an irrational fear because I'm a total clutz.

    ReplyDelete
  61. OMG, why is that with smoke detectors? Now that I think about it...I think that I may have had one in all of my life go off during the day. And I still couldn't figure out which room it was coming from!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hope you were able to fix your camera!

    Happy SITS Day!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Happy SITS Day!
    My contribution:

I DID NOT sit my clutch purse on the back of the toilet, hit it with the toilet seat, and watch my Blackberry plummet into the toilet!

I DID NOT sign up to take a statistics class only to sit in my seat with the feeling that I could either fly into a panic attack or vomit into my messenger bag.

    Clever Post!

  64. my cell phone does not decide to wait until the whole house is asleep before deciding to let us know that it's battery is dying by beeping all night long. It did not take my 10 minutes in a sleep induced fog to find my cell phone and turn it off.

    *L*

    Happy SITS day.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I love your Not Me's. I am glad you finally did figure out which CO2 detectors was on the fritz!!

  66. Happy SITS day.
I am so very sorry about your camera. I think the publicist would go crazy without her camera. We goats would be just as happy without all the photos.

    ReplyDelete
  67. My smoke detector woke me up one morning with a low battery too--thankfully it wasn't as early as yours but I'm with you, WHY does it still beep after the batteries are removed? grrrrrr!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Whew! I'm so glad you didn't do all those things!! lol

    ReplyDelete
  69. I would have done the same dern thing with the blasted smoke detector. I agree - why ALWAYS in the middle of the night. Siigh.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Those darn detectors do seem to have a mind of their own, don't they? We had pretty much the same late night situation only exacerbated by the fact that our two small children were woken up and crying due to the noise! Fun fun fun!

  74. Don't you just LOOOOOOOVVVVEEE days like that? Had a problem with our smoke detector batteries going off the night before we left for China! You know, one sets off them all... then it was a hunt to find which of the 20 or so was the culprit!

Stopping by from SITS! Congrats on the feature!
